- What is the CCV number?
The card security code (CCV number)
The card security code is the last three digits of a longer number printed on your credit/debit card.
Most cards have the number printed at the top of the signature strip on the reverse side of the card.
- Can I make booking with debit card?
Not all hotels will accept bookings made using debit cards but you can check the hotels mirco site for details
while booking to see if they do or do not.
- What credit cards do you accept (bookingay.com) ?
We accept Visa, Visa Electron, Master Cards and Solo, Switch, JCB and Lazer Debit cards.
- What currency will I do the booking in?
We allow you to view and charge for your deposit and booking fee in Euro(€).
The option to view your booking in any other currency is an indicator only and we cannot guarantee the exchange rate on the day to be the same when the charge appears on your card. Please allow for fluctuating exchange rates.
- I see error messages when I try to book online
Our sites bookings are secure. There may be some reasons why your credit card transaction will not go through.
Please check the following and try your transaction again:
- There may be insufficient funds to cover the transaction being booked.
- You may not have filled out all the information fields requested.
- Deposit and booking fees
When you book online, through our online credit card processing company, we take a 15% deposit (downpayment) for your reservation plus a EUR (€) 2.00 booking fee. This amount will not be refunded to you on arrival at the hotel. The balance of 85% of your accommodation cost as shown on your booking confirmation is due on arrival at the hotel / hostel. All charges from our site will be in EUR €.
The 15% deposit is a downpayment and is non refundable.
- Can I pay with cash on arrival?
It depends on the individual property’s policy.
The property will have clearly displayed on their microsite what method you can pay with on arrival, either cash and /or credit/debit card.
- Pricing rates
All rates on the bookingay.com website are per room per stay, unless stated differently.

- What does all that types of rooms mean?
Ensuite - room with private bathroom.
Single - room with single bed for one person
Double - room with large bed for two people
Twin - room with two single beds for two people
- Contact details of the property
We do not provide contact information for hotels before you book them. You will receive complete directions and contact information, including email address and telephone number on your booking confirmation.
- Can you resend me the confirmation of the booking?
Once you click the "Confirm" button it should only take up to 1 minute to receive confirmation of your booking on screen.
Do not click the confirm button more than once or you will be charged more than once.
Due to the nature of the internet and individual e-mail servers that sometimes confirmation e-mails will not be received or you may have misspelt your email address. As a precaution all your bookings are also stored in our online travel itinerary planner, MyReservations . Please login there to find your booking.
By booking through bookingay.com you automatically become a "My Reservation" member and can access this area at any time to view your bookings.
- Should I reconfirm the booking before arrival?
Unless specified by the hostel directly on the microsite or on the conditions you have recieved you do not need to reconfirm.
Please print out your booking confirmation and have ready for check in at the property booked.
- How to cancel the reservation?
To cancel the booking you must do it throught My Reservation or contact the property directly using the contact details on your booking confirmation,
please remember to quote your booking reference in any correspondence with the property.
In the event of a cancellation the booking fee and deposit are non-refundable.
You must give at least 24 hours cancellation notice to the property to avoid a no-show charge.
The no-show charge is the total of the first night's accommodation cost and will be charged to your credit card if you do not notify the hostel in time.
You can log into your My Reservation to view full booking details.
Cancellations must take place online, 24 hours ahead of your booked arrival.
- How to amend the reservation?
You should contact the hotel directly to request an amendment to your reservation. Contact details are clearly noted on your confirmation e-mail, please quote your booking reference number in any correspondence with the hostel. Acceptance of any amendments is at the discretion of the hostel concerned.
If an amendment of your reservation is not possible your deposit and booking fee are non-refundable.
- What does the "Low price guarantee" mean?
- You must have a confirmed reservation with bookingay.com.
- Your check in date must be at least one week after the booking date.
- Better rate must be found within 24 hours of the reservation having been confirmed by bookingay.com.
- Must be the same: room types, check in and check out dates, number of guests and services included in the rate.
- New found rate must be able to be cancelled and refunded in full at least 3 days prior to the check-in date.
- The website that offers the better rate must offer instant online confirmation.

- The check-in and check-out times of a hotel
The check-in and check-out times differ. Check it on the hotels microsite. If you are going to arrive late or very early, we advise you to let the hotel know in advance using the Remarks field in the reservation form, or inform the hotel directly using the contact details you will find in your confirmation email.
- A shuttle service
Please check in the section Hotel Facilities whether the hotel offers shuttle service.
If so, please contact the hotel directly in order to arrange it, once your reservation has been confirmed. You will find the hotel’s contact details in the confirmation email.
