George Hotel, tucked away just north of Russell Square on the edge of Bloomsbury in a classic curved crescent of Grade II listed Georgian town-houses (built c.1809 - 1811) overlooking gated gardens and tennis courts. These town-houses were once the homes of the wealthy but many are now converted to hotels and the George Hotel was formed as a result of the uniting of 3 of these buildings.
The perfect location for a stay in central London - quiet and peaceful facing central gardens but within walking distance of the British Museum, Covent Garden, Soho and the West End, ideal for both theatres and shopping. If you prefer to use the tube, the hotel is only 2 stops from Oxford Circus and Covent Garden and only 3 stops from Leicester Square.

The nearest tube station is Russel square on Picadilly line (about 5 minute walk from us). Two other stations near by are Euston and Kings Cross/St Pancrass (both about 10 minute walk from us).
Getting here from Heathrow airport please take piccadilly line directly to Russell Square or you can take the Heathrow Express to Paddington station. We can also arrange for a car to pick you up at the Arrivals Hall.
Getting here from Gatwick airport please take a direct train to Kings Cross/St Pancras or you can take a coach to central London. We can also arrange a car to pick you up.
Getting here from Stansted airport please take a Stansted Express to Liverpool Street or you can take a coach to central London. We can arrange a car to pick you up.
Getting here from Luton airport please take a direct train to Kings Cross/St Pancras or you can take a coach to central London. We can arrange a cab to pick you up.

Our reception is open from 7 am – 10:30 pm (Monday – Friday) and 7.30 am – 10.00 pm (Saturday, Sunday). Please let us know if you would be arriving later then reception hours. Check-in time is from 1:30 pm but you are welcome to store your bags with us if you arrive earlier. Check out time is around 10.30 AM.
All bedrooms in the George have digital T.V., direct-dial phone, tea/coffee making facilities and the price includes a traditional English breakfast and tax – the only extra to pay for is the phone if you need to use it. The hotel now has a computer in the lounge with free internet access for guests to keep in touch with friends and family while travelling. We also have free WiFi access.
The gardens to the front of the hotel are private but as a guest at the hotel you will have access. Also use of the tennis courts for a nominal sum and we can provide you with racquets and tennis balls free of charge |
