| Located along a beautiful tree-lined avenue in the heart of the city of Washington, DC, the District Hotel is located in an historic building built in 1920, surrounded by an historic neighborhood just a 20 minute walk from the White House. The entire building is non-smoking, with 58 unique rooms on 4 floors. Located between Dupont Circle (one of the most gay-friendly areas of the city) and the old-city neighborhood of Logan Circle, just one-half block from the thriving 14th Street corridor, as well as easy walking distance to the historic U Street corridor. Five different Metro Subway stations are just 12-15 minutes by foot, and taxi cabs are everywhere in our neighborhood. Complimentary continental breakfast and wireless internet access are provided, and 24-hour guest services provide security and help when guests need them. |

| From the Reagan National Airport, take a short taxi cab ride, or the Metro Subway Yellow Line to Mt Vernon Square/Convention Center, then walk or taxi 6 blocks west on M Street NW to 14th Street NW, take a right on 14th, go 2 more blocks north to Rhode Island Ave NW, turn left on Rhode Island and the hotel is on your left one-half block west of 14th. From Dulles International Airport, your best bet is to find a shuttle service online, or take a taxi cab. By car, head toward downtown Washington, DC, find 14th Street NW (which is just off of Interstate 395), head just north of the city center/downtown area/White House, and turn left on Rhode Island Ave NW (which is between N Street NW and P Street NW). In this area of the city, there are taxi cabs everywhere, and they are reasonably priced, as long as you take a METERED CAB. |
Important information:
The hotel is located just 1 block from a Whole Foods grocery store (a health food chain), with dozens of restaurants and bars anywhere from 1 block away to 5 blocks away, including the historic jazz clubs of DC. Tour companies offer many services to cater to the needs of those who are in DC to see the national sights, such as the monuments and the plethora of mostly-free museums that are a trademark of DC life. Beautiful neighborhoods surround the hotel, and the city's wealthier citizens live all around us, so the neighborhoods are some of the safest in DC. This location is a perfect launching point whether you are coming here for business or pleasure, as the hotel is located just a few blocks from the city center, as well as "Embassy Row" on Connecticut Avenue NW. |
