The way Dutch society accepts the affective diversity, has its best reflection in the fact that Holland was the first European country in equaling the civil rights of all its citizens regardless of their affective orientation. And this feeling is demonstrated with pride every time the Dutch have a chance.

During the LGBTI Pride day, the whole city gets involved in the celebration, the same way that happens at parties like the Kings' Day (celebratation of the coronation of its current monarch)  a celebration that in any other country would be a party fundamentally "hetero", in Amsterdam no matter if you are lesbian, gay or transsexual, you will have the feeling of being in a great celebration of diversity, where the symbols of the rainbow mix with the orange that floods the country and dresses the Dutch for this occasion - for being the House of Orange the one that gives the surname to the monarchs.

Amsterdam was also the first European city to host the Gay Games, an event in which I had the luxury of participating in 1998 and also hosted a more than successful EuroPride in 2016.
